Why catalog matters
- The assistant uses catalog data to answer customer questions.
- Better catalog quality means fewer incorrect replies and fewer manual handoffs.
- Auto Sales works much better when catalog entries are complete and structured.
1) Start with a minimum working catalog
- Start with at least 3 clear items so customers get useful answers immediately.
- For each item, include name, short description, and price logic where available.
- If pricing depends on options, include those options clearly in the item data.
2) Ways to add catalog data
- Import from your website URL.
- Import from Google Sheets or Google Docs.
- Upload files (for example PDF, DOCX, CSV, or XLSX).
- Add items manually in the table editor.
3) Google Sheets tabs and categories
- If your sheet has multiple tabs, import keeps tab context so items can stay organized by category.
- Use clear tab names to make resulting categories easier to read.
- After import, quickly review grouping and rename categories if needed.
4) How merge and sync work
- When you import again, existing matching items are updated.
- New rows are added when no match is found.
- Duplicate rows are reduced where possible.
- Manual values in your table should remain stable when source data is empty.

5) Multiple tables and switching
- You can create separate tables for different product lines or services.
- Use separate tables when your business has very different categories or teams.
- Switch active table in Catalog when editing different groups of items.

- Product/service names are customer-friendly and consistent.
- Pricing format is clear: fixed, from, range, or on request.
- Outdated and duplicate rows are removed.
- Availability, lead times, and booking/payment links are filled where needed.

Troubleshooting
- Imported data looks wrong: clean source file/website structure and run import again.
- Too many duplicates: normalize product names and remove near-identical rows manually.
- Assistant cannot answer pricing: verify price fields and option-based pricing rules.
- Wrong item appears in replies: review categories/tabs and remove ambiguous product names.
